This course is intended to help students better prepare for managing complex projects in the current and future business worlds, characterised by emergence and uncertainty. A variety of relevant theories and tools are covered, including systems theory, systems thinking, and the concept of an evolving toolbox for complex project management. Real-life complex project management case studies are discussed in the context of the various domains, including air, maritime and urban transportation, construction, infrastructure, and disaster recovery. Topics include modelling and simulation, adaptability, agility, resilience, project scheduling, systemic risk management, and failure mode effects and analysis. |
