Students will be introduced to critical reasoning skills that should help them think through contentious moral topics and engage in public debates in a way that is intellectually honest and well-informed. Some questions we will consider include: What is valuable in and of itself? What does a good life consist in? What is a right action? Is abortion morally permissible? Is the death penalty for murderers immoral? Is active euthanasia morally permissible? Is it wrong to eat factory farmed meat?
